State of the Art Dental Technology

At Bloor Dental Clinic, we take pride in our use of up-to-date procedures and products to give Toronto residents the best oral health possible. Here are some of the technologies our dentists use:

Digital X-Rays

Your images are sent from the x-ray machine straight to a computer, eliminating the wait and resulting in a clearer picture. We can assess your x-ray right away. Moreover, you are exposed to less radiation with digital x- rays.

Nitrous Oxide

Sometimes called “laughing gas,” nitrous oxide is administered by Bloor Dental Clinic to sedate and relax you during your dental procedure.

Composite Fillings

Composite fillings take the place of metal fillings. Often called “tooth-colored fillings,” these are made with a blend of quartz or glass and resin. This long-lasting filling material is very popular.

Dental Examinations

During your dental exam, we will check your teeth visually and take x-ray images of your entire mouth, examining not only teeth but also bone and soft tissue.

Dental Cleanings

We remove any dental plaque we find, as well as tartar (hardened plaque) from tooth and gum surfaces during your dental cleaning.

Restorative Dentistry

Composite Resin Dental Fillings We use tooth-coloured material to restore teeth that have been damaged by breakage or decay using a variety of bonding techniques.

Sometimes called caps, crowns are placed on broken and damaged teeth to restore the structure and to protect them from further damage. Materials include porcelain, zirconia and more.

Missing a tooth, or several in a row? Bridges are artificial teeth that “bridge” gaps between natural teeth. The bridge is affixed to the natural teeth on either side of the gap.

Complete or Partial Dentures

Also called “false teeth,” dentures are removable artificial teeth made to replace all of your natural teeth (complete dentures) or a row of missing teeth (partial dentures). We provide dentures and repair them, as well.

Dental Implants

Dental implants provide a way to replace natural teeth with artificial teeth that are rooted in the jaw, just as natural teeth are. A titanium screw is surgically implanted in the gum and – as it heals – adheres to the jawbone. An artificial tooth or teeth are placed on the screw for a naturally functioning new “tooth.” Implants can support entire sets of dentures, as well as crowns and bridges.

Tooth Whitening

Bloor Dental Clinic provides both in-office tooth whitening and take-home kits to whiten teeth that have become discoloured by use of tobacco, staining foods and drinks, certain medications or simply age.

Dental Veneers

At Bloor Dental Clinic, we use porcelain veneers, which are thin covers for your front teeth. We bond the veneers to your existing teeth to cover stains or to make broken/chipped teeth appear whole.

Composite Bonding

Composite bonding means that the appearance of your teeth can be improved with less invasive procedures than in the past. At Bloor Dental Clinic, we’ll work with you to decide what materials and procedures would work best for you.

Dental Extractions

This means removal of teeth that are too damaged to be left in the mouth safely. Dental extractions also occur for orthodontic issues.

Wisdom Teeth Extractions

Wisdom teeth, or third molars, generally appear during the late teens and often must be removed, as many times the jaw does not allow room for their growth. Therefore, wisdom teeth often crowd other teeth and sometimes even rotate in the jaw, causing problems. In such situations, Bloor Dental Clinic performs wisdom teeth extractions.

Root Canal Treatment

When a tooth becomes diseased, the damaged parts of the tooth are removed and the root canal thoroughly cleaned and sterilized. This procedure is called a root canal treatment.

Bloor Dental Clinic provides custom-made mouthguards to protect your teeth from damage during participation in sports.

Grinding or clenching your teeth at night can negatively affect the chewing surfaces of the teeth and cause temporomandibular joint (TMJ) pain. Nightguards can help you avoid these issues.

Dental Sealants

Dental sealants, made of bonded resin, protect teeth from bacteria when placed on the chewing surfaces.

Emergency Dentistry

Bloor Dental Clinic is always ready to treat your dental emergency.
